GP Wu (short for Gladiator Posse) was an American hip hop group consisting of four members, Pop Da Brown Hornet, Down Low Recka, Rubbabandz and June Luva. The group formed in 1993 and were one of the many affiliates of The Wu-Tang Clan.[1]
All four members appeared on fellow Wu-Tang affiliate Shyheim's first two albums 1994's AKA the Rugged Child and 1996's The Lost Generation, with their first official appearance as a group being on the track entitled "5 Elements" from the latter. The group released their first and only album Don't Go Against the Grain in 1998 through MCA Records. The album met with little success and only reached No. 44 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Following the album, the group went their separate ways, with Pop da Brown Hornet being the only one to release a solo album, 2000's The Undaground Emperor

SPIN4th, also known as Superb Procurer of Ingenious Narrations to the 4th Power, is a hip hop artist and producer. He first gained recognition as a member of the legendary underground hip hop trio, Yaggfu Front, in the early 90s. The group was known for their unique blend of jazz and boom bap, infused with layers of sound and witty lyricism that covered everything from everyday events to absurd adventures. Before his time with Yaggfu Front, SPIN4th was cutting his teeth in the small town of Kinston, NC. He was introduced to DJing at the young age of 15 by his cousin, Jock from East Orange, NJ, and started rocking in his father's night club soon after. This provided him with the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who were serious about hip hop, and he began to learn about drum machines, break beats, and sampling. After attending college in Raleigh, NC, SPIN4th met the rest of his crew: Jingle Bell, who lived in his dorm, and Deranged and Damage, who he met at WKNC radio at NCSU. Together, they formed Yaggfu Front and began making records in the original NC flavor. SPIN4th also began to seriously dabble in production, learning the ins and outs of the Akai, Ensoniq, and Emu samplers.Despite gaining notoriety with Yaggfu Front and fashioning a new production style with their album "Action Packed Adventure," the group became victims of the cool down of the golden era of hip hop and the industry's switch to a more aggressive form of rap. At this time, SPIN4th put the mic down and focused on honing his production skills and crafting his own unique style. After taking a hiatus of about five years, SPIN4th picked up the mic again, blending his new style of rhyme with the new style of beats. For the next 15 years, he continued to have fun with hip hop while also becoming an IT professional in the background. Now, with the 50th anniversary of hip hop upon us, SPIN4th is gearing up to release new music and be a part of this monumental occasion. Fans can expect a wild ride from this hip hop veteran.

Spit Fire Save The Matches Ep.62 ( Buddha Chief)

With Brooklyn being the home to heavy hitters in the rap game, there’s no doubt that great artistry comes from this particular borough in New York City. Vaughn Jefferson also known as Buddha Chief is an artist and entrepreneur who understands cultural significance when it comes to his music and work.
In the 1980’s during the peak of the crack era, it was important for young black males not to become a product of their environment. Buddha Chief was raised by his mother and grandmother, but hip hop always surrounded him as a kid. He was brought up on the same block as one of his hip hop inspirations Big Daddy Kane. Vaughn even curated a mural of Big Daddy Kane on the building where he once lived which he signed in approval. He plans to carry on tradition like other famous artists from the Bed Stuy community started and to keep shaping the rap culture.
At first when Buddha Chief started to make music he was known as “Von Jeff”. His mission was to give his listeners positive energy through beats and lyrics. The process of creating the perfect song for his audience became a thrill for him. He released his first mixtape in 2012 titled ‘ Count Me In ‘. Several songs from his project were placed in the film ‘ “Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete” which was executive produced by Alicia Keys.
Music wasn’t just about songs to Vaughn it was viewed as a lifestyle. He had a different approach when it came to getting his foot through the entertainment door. In the early 2000’s Buddha Chief served as the Director of A&R for MTV2’S “Monday Night Fight Klub”. He scouted and developed many of the popular battle rappers such as Cortez, Tay Roc, Reed Dollaz, Jag, Math Hoffa, and Serius Jones to name a few. Vaughn also found passion in production where he became a videographer for rapper Maino and for the respected Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
Buddha Chief was chosen as his new stage name to rebrand himself. Buddha Chief is not only Vaughn’s stage name but also for his cannabis business. Being a huge fan of rapper Redman is what inspired the name behind the brand. “On a righteous level my vision was to always create an infusion of people and bring many cultures together under one roof by means of cannabis. Hence we have Buddha Chief” says rapper Buddha Chief. Outside of his music and cannabis career, Vaughn has also become a strong advocate for the black community as a whole. He’s currently releasing a docuseries titled “The Cure Rater’ to display the importance of mental health awareness. Buddha Chief’s passion coupled with his versatile talents will make him a respected name in hip hop culture.
